AMICA e.V. has a new managing director. From January on, Cornelia Grothe is taking over this position at the office of AMICA e.V. in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. She follows Dr. Ellen Seßar-Karpp, who held this office since 2013. "The concerns of women and girls suffering from the consequences of sexual violence in conflict are at the centrer of my attention", Grothe says. Before joining the AMICA-Team, the educational scientist worked as a freelance facilitator and consultant for various institutions, organizations, and initiatives in the greater Freiburg area.

Cornelia Grothe already has leadership experience from herprevious work for the regional Church of Hannover and the Protestant Youth at the federal level. After graduation, she spent a year serving at a women's shelter in Belfast, Northern Ireland, already gaining experience in the field in which she will be working at AMICA e.V.

"I am very pleased to be part of this innovative and active organisation and to work with experts and volunteers  for women in crisis areas," said Grothe. We are looking forward very much to the time we will spend together!
